How many times have a made they same form? 1000's. Which time will I get this new design right? As many as it takes. How much time do I spend in the studio? As much as I can.

"How much time does it take you to make that?" Is a question I receive often. That depends on how you look at it. Years really... It has taken me years of failure to figure out how to manipulate the clay and hon in on my craft to be able to make this particular piece in such a manner. It has taken me months of preparation, weeks to dry, days to bisque fire, glaze and fire again. It has taken hours of contemplating glaze choices and chemistry, minutes to throw on the pottery wheel, and trim, seconds to wedge and prepare the clay and a lifetime of constantly perfecting my craft.
